Valentine’s in a Limo
Mirage Limousines has been doing Valentine limo rides for a long time. Check out this Valentine’s ideas video from ABC 15.
It’s titled, “Valentine’s Day date on a millionaire’s budget: What could you buy?” But you don’t have to be a millionaire to be treated like one.
It features our Rolls Royce limo. A limo ride is a very reasonably priced adventure. And you deserve to be pampered.
Imagine a few hours in a limo, sipping champagne. Watching the city lights go by while you get deep into conversation with your loved one. No traffic, no parking. No worries. Its like you’re floating. There is no one but you and your loved one.

A Little History of Valentine’s Day
You probably did not know that Valentine’s Day is also Arizona Statehood Day. Yes, Arizona, the 48th state, was born on February 14, 1912. So celebrate the state’s birthday for Valentine’s.
Visit the Capital Museum. The history of territorial Arizona, as well as its rise to statehood and beyond, is presented at the Arizona Capitol Museum in the Downtown Phoenix government complex. It is free to visit.
You may also want to stop across the street at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, to see the many individuals who made significant contributions to the state and the Arizona 9-11 Memorial which is also located there. Learn more here.
Valentine’s Day is said to commemorate St Valentine who was martyred on February 14, 273. Many of the current legends that characterize Saint Valentine were invented in the fourteenth century when the feast day of February 14 first became associated with romantic love.
During the Middle Ages, it was believed that birds paired in mid-February. This was then associated with the romance of Valentine. Although all these legends may differ in ways, Valentine’s day is widely recognized as a day for romance and devotion. (Wikipedia)
Many believe that Valentine’s Day may have been created in an attempt to supersede the pagan holiday of Lupercalia (celebrated in mid-February in Rome.) Lupercalia was celebrated to avert evil spirits and purify the city, releasing health and fertility.
As part of the celebration many noble youth and magistrates would “run up and down through the city naked, for sport and laughter striking those they meet with shaggy thongs.”
No one is asking you to go naked. At least not in the street. but you are encouraged to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved one.
Read on to see some of the even better things you could do on this day and on the weekend just before this auspicious day.

A Touch of Romance
One of the festival traditions, in celebration of romance and the upcoming Valentine’s holiday, is a symposium of romance novelists that will be held during the event. Fans and other interested readers can stop by to meet-and-greet the authors, attend book signings, and budding novelists can enjoy free writing workshops where the authors will help them learn more about the craft.
